Another de Blasio donor who bought rich rewards
Backing Bill de Blasio sure has its rewards — as The Post’s story Wednesday about Moishe Indig illustrates. (Yet again.)
E-mails the city coughed up under the Freedom of Information laws show that Indig, an influential rabbi in Brooklyn’s Arony Satmar community, got the royal treatment from City Hall after helping then-candidate de Blasio raise cash for his 2013 campaign.
Unorthodox-Jew A Critical View of Orthodox Judaism: Sheinberg served as a rabbi and is the former Rosh Yeshiva (dean) of the Orot HaAri Yeshiva (Torah academy). He was accused of sexual abuse by no less than thirteen women, and admitted his offenses to Tzfat Chief Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, as well as to his wife – but he has since then claimed over and over again that the allegations are “nonsense.”
When was the last time you got to ask your Rabbi any question you wanted? What about questions you are too embarrassed to ask in person?
Over 175 people attended the Crossfire! event held in Los Angeles on September 7th, moderated by the high energy and always entertaining, Rabbi Abba Perelmuter.
The panel consisted of Rabbi Yosef Shusterman, a renowned Chabad rabbi and halachic authority from Beverly Hills in California; Rabbi Mendel Lipskier, a Mashpia and Shliach at Chabad of Sherman Oaks in California; and Rabbi Shlomo Bistritzky, Director of Outreach for Chabad of the Conejo.
The event was the last one for this year that was put on by the Anash Lecture Series in Los Angeles. The lecture series, run by several local Anash community members, strives to provide high-quality lecture events, but with free admission and open to all.
For the Crossfire! event, community members submitted their questions anonymously in advance via email. The questions that had the most relevance and broadest appeal, were asked of the panel.
“The event was amazing for several reasons,” said Sruli Schochet, one of the event coordinators. “The sheer volume of questions that came in, highlights how many people have pressing questions, but are too scared to ask, out of fear of being stigmatized or the like.
“Furthermore, it was an opportunity to interact with the Rabbis and leadership of our community, as well as see them in a different setting than regular life normally affords. I think such an event should be mandatory of every Chabad community out there.”
The spirited evening covered over 20 questions with such topics as: Halacha and cosmetic surgery; Chabad and Zionism; eating in someone’s house who doesn’t cover their hair; Chabad and Eruv; handling allegations of child abuse; having more children versus rising tuition costs; and more.
Perverts to run amok in south Florida endangering Jewish children
In Boca Raton and in North Miami Beach the rabbi’s are allowing both convicted and alleged perverts to be honored in their synagogues
Rabbi Ephriam Goldberg in Boca has continuously allowed the convicted pervert. Boruch Lanner to attend services and has honored him
Following his lead rabbi Ephriam Shapiro the noted speaker who speaks for the chofetz chiam heritage foundation Allowed the alleged pervert rabbi bodkins to blow shofar for his minyan
It is clear that the rabbi’s do not have Jewish children’s best interests at heart or have no problems allowing perverts to be in their synagogue
Perhaps if people who hired rabbi s Goldberg and Shapiro as speakers would research their background about how many children have been hurt by their inaction and lack of care for the safety of Jewish children they might actually care
T He chofetz chiam heritage fund should be asked how come their main speaker allows an alleged pervert to blow shofar on rosh hashana
Rabbi’s Goldberg and Shapiro you should be ashamed
The center on 1049 38th St. follows the overdose death of Malky Klein, 20, who grew up in Borough Park. Klein was found by her mother inside their Borough Park home on June 24, police said.
Klein had recently returned from a rehab in California, according to friends and family.
“We are hopeful to remove the stigma of addiction in the community so that more people can seek the help that they need,” said Silverstein, noting the center is also set up to counsel family members of addicts.
Brooklyn Hasidic school officials busted for stealing federal meal program cash
Two ex-administrators at a Brooklyn Hasidic school system are accused of taking food out of the mouths of children.
Elozer Porges, 43, and Joel Lowy, 29, formerly of the Central United Talmudic Academy, were indicted Thursday on charges that they bilked a federal school meal program out of $3 million — putting in claims on food that was never served.
Brooklyn federal prosecutors said the unreal meal scheme took place between 2013 and 2015. They said the pair padded reimbursement claims so they could reap larger checks from the U.S. Child and Adult Care Food Program — a program meant to feed at-risk children.
The FBI and the city Department of Investigation launched a joint investigation into the reimbursement process in 2014 — specifically looking at whether dinners were actually served at the Williamsburg schools.
